KEY INGREDIENTS

Fights stink and absorbs wetness.

In your fully natural, un-deodorized state, you will stink. Why? Because when your underarms sweat, that sweat mixes with bacteria, and that mixture creates odor. Natural deodorants fight odor by fighting bacteria and absorbing your sweat.

ARROWROOT POWDER

MAGNESIUM HYDROXIDE

TRIETHYL CITRATE

Keeps you smelling good.

We use an all-natural, essential oil-based fragrance to create an extra-pleasant scent. (Check out the full ingredients list to see a breakdown by scent.)

LEMON OIL

ROSEMARY EXTRACT

ORANGE OIL

Make a product that feels normal.

Our deodorant goes on like real deodorant and works like real deodorant. That means these ingredients work to ensure no staining, no white marks, and no melting or crumbling.

SUNFLOWER WAX

How does it smell?

Explore Naturals is made by not one, but two companies that are experts in smelling amazing. The first company produces some of the internet’s best-selling deodorants (under other names), but saved the best stuff for Explore Naturals. The other is PHLUR, an award-winning line of fragrances, scented candles and body care.

So yeah: Explore Naturals deodorants smell pretty good.

Will it make my skin red or irritated?

While our natural deodorant formula has been designed to minimize any allergic reactions, we do use a small amount of baking soda to help with moisture and have found that some people will have a negative reaction to that ingredient.

If you experience irritation there are two things you can try:

First, try applying a smaller amount... we found that two light swipes are all you need for protection and will minimize your exposure to the baking soda.

Second, try our Baking Soda Free formula as it is designed specifically for sensitive skin and does not contain any baking soda.

Any tips on switching to natural?

If you are switching to natural from standard commercial brands, please do not over-apply as this could lead to irritation. In addition, it might take time for your body to flush out the toxins that were trapped by the aluminum. Some call this the “detox period” and you may experience malodor while going through it. It’s temporary, so stick it out and reapply frequently. In the end, it will be worth it. Want more, check out our New to Natural Tips.

Does natural deodorant work?

Natural deodorant works.

In your fully natural, un-deodorized state, you will stink. Why? Because when your underarms sweat, that sweat mixes with bacteria, and that mixture creates odor. Natural deodorants fight odor by fighting bacteria. In our case, that means applying a special mix of arrowroot powder and baking soda to prevent stink. We also use an all-natural, essential oil-based fragrance to create an extra-pleasant scent (such as sea sage). Simple, right?

How does it feel when applying?

Explore Naturals is deodorant. Unlike antiperspirant, we do not use aluminum to clog your pores and prevent sweating. Instead we rely on a small amount of baking soda as one of the elements to help reduce wetness. This can cause our deodorant to be a bit grittier than a typical antiperspirant. We’ve tried to minimize this effect as much as possible by using other elements like virgin coconut oil, shea butter, sunflower seed oil, beeswax and arrowroot powder, so they can help create a smoother application. If you’re looking for our smoothest glide, we suggest starting with our Baking Soda Free formula.

When is comes to application, less is more. Believe us: It’s in our interest to tell you more is more. (That way, you’d run out faster, and order more of it.) But that’s just not the way we do things.

The reality is that a couple swipes will do the trick. Unlike antiperspirant, where some days you just need to dab more on (or reapply), natural deodorant really only requires a little bit to do a lot.
